- To sign up and register yourself for the next Video Game Melee please follow these directions:
- Review the rules and regulations of this specific tournament listed at the bottom of the page
- Ensure that you are available for the tournament start date listed on the flyer (dates may be extended beyond the start date depending on the level of registered participants)
- Click on the link above listed as "Contact Us"
- On the "Contact Form" fill out the participant's name, phone number and e-mail address. Then under the "Your Event" list select video game tournament and list the date of the tournament in "Date of Your Event".
- After submitting the form a reply will be sent back to you confirming all the information that was sent to Just Dance Entertainment so that it can be forwarded to the site.
- The fee for the tournament will be assessed at the chosen venue on the day of the tournament during the registration process. GET READY FOR GAME TIME!!
Rules and Regulations:
Prior to the Tournament each player must complete the following:
- Registration card with Name, Mailing Address, E-mail Address, Phone Number and Age
- A payment of $10.00 in cash or check (made payable to Just Dance Entertainment)
- A signed waiver from the parent or guardian provided by Volusia County informing the parents or guardian that Daytona Lagoon, Just Dance Ent. and Volusia County are not responsible for their child during the course of the event.
A participant of the tournament must be a middle school or high school student within the age range between 11 and 18.
A MAXIMUM of 256 people will be allowed to play per one day of the tournament. If the amount of people registered passes 256, then the next batch will roll over to the following Saturday.
During the Tournament:
- Participants will be arranged into a single elimination bracket system at random with no regards to age or sex.
- Participants will be called up to the video game tournament area where they will be direct by a member of Just Dance Entertainment to which television they will be playing on.
- Participants will then compete in the video game and the winner of the game will be displayed through the results of the video game system. For Mario Kart:
- The race will be selected at random by each player rolling a dice. The combined sum of the die will correspond to a preselected race course
- The difficulty level (or CC level) will increase as the rounds advance. The level of difficulty advancement will be determined the day of the event and will correspond to the number of rounds required to achieve the overall winner
- Racer selection will be chosen by the participants. In the event two participants wish to select the same character, each player will role a die until one player has a higher number than the other. The player with the higher role will be allowed that character.
- The winner will be defined as the person who finishes in a high ranking spot than the other. There will only be two racers per television)
- The winner of the game will be advanced to the next round and will be displayed on the overall progress board.
- At each video game station there will be two chairs to show the players that are up next for that television. A player will be called to their television 5 minutes before their game is slated to begin.
- The tournament will flow in a preselected order of rounds so that each person is aware of approximately how far off their round is.
- If a player misses his/her game for the first time the game will be shifted to the side and will be recalled within 15 minutes.
- If a player misses his/her game a second time the game will be announced as a forfeit by that player and he/she is eliminated from the tournament
- Once a player is eliminated he/she is allowed to remain at the venue and utilize the attractions and food and beverage services with the discounts that have been established with venue.
At conclusion of the tournament:
- Prizes will be awarded to the winners as follows:
- 8th through 5th place will each receive similar prizes. (The participants who lost during the final eight players
- 4th and 3rd place will each receive similar prizes. (The participants who lost during the final four players)
- 2nd place will receive a prize. (The participant who lost during the final two player)
- 1st place will receive the Grand Prize. (The participant who won during the final two players and remained undefeated for the entire tournament.)
